My opinion:

This New Market Road food centre specializes and excels in traditional Singapore mixed vegetable rice. For this 2016 food review, my mother and I have tried their rice meal for $3.00. We chose doufu, fried chicken meat, soy sauce chicken bits as our food items.

Doufu was bland and did not mix well with the other food items. Fried chicken meat was delicious, firm and not too oily. Although the chicken bits were juicy, soft and tender, they were too salty and “sinful” for our liking. Rice was well cooked and did not suffer from dryness, roughness or sticky issues.

In conclusion, the food here was economical, tasty and had a few small flaws that prevented this stall from greatness. If you are a “rice bucket” living near Chinatown, this stall is recommended by our website.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

Review the doufu’s cooking process and reduce the amount of salt in the chicken bits’ preparation process.
