My opinion:

Jia Jia Le means “every family is happy” in Chinese. This Commonwealth food court stall specializes in traditional Singapore mixed vegetable rice. My mother and I have their rice meal for $4.50. For this 2016 review, we chose doufu with pork meat bits, soy sauce pork meat, sweet sour pork as our food items.

Doufu was soft and had a weird bitter taste. My mother’s expert opinion was that the cooking oil may be the main “culprit” for the doufu’s food quality problems. Meat bits were bland and did not mix well with the rice.

Although the soy sauce pork was juicy, soft and tender, it was also too salty for rice meals. Sweet sour pork was dry and slightly too tough. Rice was well cooked and did not suffer from dryness, roughness or sticky issues.

In a nutshell, the food here was bland and had a lot of glaring errors that prevented us from visiting them in the near future. Honestly, the owners need to greatly improve their food quality as they are competing with more than 6 mixed vegetable rice stalls in its neighborhood.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

First, check the doufu and oil ingredients. Second, reduce the amount of salt or soy sauce in the pork meat’s preparation process. Third, reduce the time used in cooking the sweet sour pork.
