My opinion:

Jia Ji stands for “easy to remember” or “excellent stall” in Chinese. This stall has the honor of the longest queue in Chinatown Market and Food Centre. Count yourself lucky if there are only 6 people queuing in front of you. They sell traditional Singapore Chinese food items including chee cheong fun, fried bee hoon, rice dumplings, soon kuehs and yam cakes. My family have tasted their various food items and most of them are average tasting except their signature chee cheong fun and yam cake, which is a “must try” for my mother once every few months.

In this blog review, I ordered chee cheong fun and yam cake for $2.00. Chee cheong fun was silky, smooth and did not have an artificial or pungent taste. However, it could be slightly oily at times. Yam cake was addictive, delicious, simple and mixed well with the chili and sweet sauce. Chili was hot but sweet sauce was slightly salty.

In conclusion, I ranked their chee cheong fun and yam cake as among the top 10 that I have eaten in 2014 and 2015. This 2 food items are highly recommended by my blog but please be more cautious on their fried bee hoon, porridge and rice dumplings.
