My opinion:

This Bedok North coffee shop stall sells traditional Singapore char siew rice, chicken rice, duck rice, roasted delicacies, dumpling noodles and wanton noodles. For this 2016 food review, my mother and I have tried their roasted chicken rice for $3.50.

There were 10 pieces of duck meat and huge amount of rice in our takeaway packet. Marinated egg, peanuts, tau kwa and yam were considered “missing in action”. Although the pieces of duck meat were juicy, soft and tender, they were small sized and had a lot of bones. Duck skin was average tasting and not crispy enough. Rice was plentiful, warm and mixed well with the sweet black sauce. Chili sauce was dumped on the rice instead of packing in a separate packet (unprofessional).

To sum up, the food here could satisfy our stomachs but not the craving for duck rice. “Mr Duck” has started business not too long ago so the owners may require time to perfect their recipes.

Ways for the owners to improve their food ratings:

Introduce tau kwa as a food ingredient, add more duck meat and pack the chili in separate packet.
