Common Fengshui Mistakes (106) Please refrain from playing Buddhist chants or music for long hours in your home

Tian Tan Buddha

It is good to listen to Buddhist chants and music for relaxation after a hard day’s work. Problems arise when you do not know the nature of the Buddhist chants or music. Some Buddhist chants are used for praising Buddha and the lesser gods. Others are used for hardship endurance, warding off evil and helping the dead spirits reincarnate. Playing Buddhist chants and music for long hours can actually backfire on you by attracting wandering spirits trying to lessen their sufferings or even seek reincarnation.

Your home is a place for you to rest and rejuvenate. A temple is where you pray and seek divine help. If you turn your home into a “temporary temple” by playing Buddhist chants for long hours, disputes and quarrels might arise among family members.

My solution is to understand the nature of the Buddhist chants and music. Play those chants that are praising Buddha or used for warding off evil. Switch off the CD player or radio once you have finished listening to them. I highly advise people to stop listening to these chants after 19:00 (7 p.m). You can also add a ear piece device so you will not attract the attention of the supernatural by playing religious chants.
